That ending left me in complete and utter shock, rendering me catatonic. I am an emotion mess while at the same time completely flabbergasted.

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to Allen and Unwin for sending me this ARC in exchange for an honest review. This in now way alters my opinion of the book.

My biggest fear in reviewing this book is that I won’t do it justice. This book is definitely to date my favourite that Jay Kristoff has ever written, and was one of the most wonderful books I’ve ever read. I was completely engrossed in this world and fell in love with the characters. This novel had me laughing, smiling, crying, shocked and overall, completely overwhelmed. I was a real mess . There are no words perfect enough to sum up how much I truly LOVED this novel.

The novel is set an a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world where robots and humans alike roam the earth. There are machines that are the standard robots that have no intelligence, machines that have their own intelligence, feelings and personalities, machines that must be functioned with human assistance, and then there is the one we discover along the way…

Lifelikes. We follow the life of Eve and her little crew which includes her best-friend Lemon Fresh and her little logic Cricket. Along the way the group discover a lifelike…. you guys can see where this is going. Their lives are turned upside down, and Eve is forced to deal with the nightmares and shocking secrets of her past.

This book is filled with adventure, romance, drama, war, battle and fight sequences! they’re a lot of of these I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed dystopian, post-apocalyptic writing, and I won’t lie, I loved the balance of romance and passion in this novel.

5/5 Stars from Me! I would give this a million if I could!
